Surf in
Playa Venao
Playa Venao is considered the best beach in Panama for surfing, a first-rate surf destination. The main wave breaks left and right. There is usually always something to surf on, unlike other places in the area that rely on swells.
- Mostly empty on weekdays, a dream for surfers.
- Take 1 on 1 surfing lessons
- Sandy ground makes it an ideal place for beginners.

Spa at Ecovenao
Indulge your senses with a relaxing massage and let our team of professionals masseurs lead you to a place of total relaxation. Click here for more info. Contact reception to make a reservation.
Yoga and Retreats
A beautiful palm roofed deck on the beach, with 180° view of ocean, trees and sand. The sturdy polished teak floor and the high roof provides an ideal space for a wide range of activities such as meditation sessions, music or dance classes.
Ask at the reception for the weekly yoga schedule.
RETREATS
Eco Venao also hosts yoga, surf and other retreat groups. Packages can be custom-designed to fit the needs of any group.
Horseback Riding
Choose to go horse riding around our project or the beach. A guide will accompany you.
Please arrange your horseback riding with a day in advance at reception.
Permaculture
Our permaculture team has achieved great headway in the restoration of biological and cultural diversity at Eco Venao.
Currently the project consists of fruit, vegetable, a robust composting system, grey water recycling system, an African bee farm, composting toilets with wood chips, amazing plants and a lot of fun.
Water Activities
Nearby Isla Iguana has crystal-clear waters and corals make it ideal for snorkeling.
Also, several fishing tour agencies around the area that will take you fishing at the best spots.
Cascada Trail
The entire route to the viewpoint is 1.5m and it takes approximately 25 minutes. Along the way you will get to know the different species of trees and vegetation and if you are lucky you will see the three different species of monkeys (howlers, capuchins, and spider).
Ask at reception for one of our maps, these will be useful to guide you and they also provide information about the tree species that you will find. We recommend using closed shoes. $4 per person (Free for guests).
Hammocking
If your looking to simply relax and listen to nature or read a book in a hammock, you are at the perfect place!
We have hammocks in various common places like this Paraguas near the hostal, at the beach bar and at the houses.
